We weren’t the photographers at this wedding. We were just friends, watching someone we love get married. But when the official wedding photographer’s coverage had ended for the day, and the afternoon still had so much left to offer (i.e.: the cake, the dancing, the rest of the party?), we asked our friend if she’d be okay with us capturing it on our phones for her and her new husband.
She said “yes,” enthusiastically.
What came out of it wasn’t polished. It was better than that: it was honest, intimate, filled with all the chaos and warmth that make wedding receptions unforgettable.
These photos weren’t commissioned or even planned, but these are some of the work we’re most proud of because they reminded us why we do this in the first place.
Disclaimer: Documented on iPhone, with the bride’s permission, after the official photography coverage had concluded. Further, she has given us permission to use those photos for our portfolio.
